Who are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will have some experience shooting in a professional capacity, own a good selection of professional digital camera gear, have some sort of sales background, and show a passion for photography and a desire to learn more about it. If this does not quite describe you, do not worry, as it is almost impossible for us to fill our staff with people with all of these qualities.
Experience as a professional shooter or a degree in photographic arts is definitely an asset, however, we feel that it is more important to have a passion for photography and a desire to be outside shooting everyday. We go through an extensive training program and constantly offer the opportunity to learn many different aspects of photography, and because of this, we feel we can train people how to shoot great photographs if they have the drive to want to learn how.
What will you need?
A certain minimum of gear is required for this job. If you do not have this equipment at this time, we can offer advice on finding what you need.
o A Nikon or Canon digital SLR camera body with a flash sync speed of at least 1/125th sec
o A wide angle lens in the range of 24-70mm (17-105mm is preferred)
o Proper Lens hoods and UV filters for each lens
o A camera dedicated accessory flash, no pop ups
o A valid working visa, we are unable to assist foreign workers in getting one.
o The ability to ski or snowboard
o A place to live in Whistler, this is sometimes very difficult to come by in November
o The commitment to full time work until the end of April
Some other attributes that we look for include the following:
o Outgoing, friendly attitude
o Strong sales skills
o Second languages, i.e. Japanese, German, Spanish, French

After your first year, employees will also have and opportunity to work in our commercial photography department.
We offer a base wage plus commissions on photo sales.
The Retail Staff we hire will:
o Have high energy, motivated, outgoing personalities
o Be proficient at selling high-end retail products, data entry, problem solving, and customer service.
o Second languages are always a help. Japanese and Spanish particularly.
We offer a competitive wage plus bonuses based on over-the-counter sales.
